Our dog Pip

My name is Pippi, I was given this name as a puppy. My owners now call me Pip. Probably because they don't think Pippi fits my size anymore.

After all, I am quite a big girl so I can understand that. I live wonderfully in the yard here and have all the space in our own garden. I cannot go into the orchard or into the Stolpjes by myself. My owners take me for a nice walk every day anyway.

Sometimes on the beach, but my favourite place is the Schoorl dunes! Especially between October and March, when I can run free and love to run and frolic on the paths, dunes and heathland.

Preferably, I then meet other dogs running loose to play with. My first reaction is to wait and see, but if there is a click then I love to play. And otherwise I just walk on because the last thing I want is to lose sight of my owners.

At home, I take my role seriously and will definitely show up and be heard. I can imagine that other people find me imposing with my 63kg. And often I have bananas in my ears when my bosses then correct me. They say it's the age, something about puberty or something. I don't know what they mean by that but it seems to take quite a long time with my species. But no matter how tough I behave: I am sweet by nature and I can never get to you because I am behind a fence. My bosses say it is best to ignore me because then the fun will soon be over. And that's true.

Once I know you then it's fine but give me some time and preferably no attention. That's how I learn... (my bosses say) ;-)
